Please Don't Love Me

She sat very tense. Every muscle in her body ached, but she couldn't make herself let go. Even the plush leather couch she was seated on the edge of provided no comfort to the bones on her bottom. Hands clutched on the couch on either side of her, she tried to listen to what the woman next to her was saying. Her mind was racing too fast, however, and the words that made it to her ears were a cacaphony of harsh, unintelligible sounds.
